Towards the future

If we take a closer look at the recent trends in the economy and in politics, it seems that things are starting to get better, but mostly only on a local level. It is not the overall economy that is improving greatly, but rather small communities around the nation and the globe. They are trying to make a difference and improve things just in their immediate area of influence. New buildings are more eco-friendly, more energy efficient, Solar panels and wind turbines are staring to spring up around the globe. Food is grown organically more locally and therefore fresher and healthier. People, who lost their jobs, start their own business, following their passion and turning it into income. There is also a new trend developing over the last few years, called Telecommuting! More and more people are doing their work from home. This of course saves gas, reduces traffic, stress, and has a whole lot of other positive side effects. While the overall economies on this planet is still based around oil, alternative energies such as biofuels and wind and solar energy are making slow but steady progress around the world. All of this is starting to show us what we really could do with all this, if we would implement it on a large scale.
