HOW AN ADVANCED PLANETARY SOCIETY WORKS

First of all, we have to build the ideological infrastructure   ... cognitive, conceptual and physical.

However, everything we need to create an advanced planetary society, is already here. We have the technology, science and knowledge to start building the future right now. This is not an imaginary science fiction dream, it is backed by hard facts, that can become reality at any time ... if we only had the necessary collective commitment.

So, what's the main obstacle that stands in the way of achieving the proper mindset and inspiration?  The answer: Conservative, right wing ideology. This way of thinking is based on fear, hate, racism and an unrelenting opposition to forward progress. as long as there are elements in our society, that adhere to such an ideology, denying science facts as well as living in a conspiracy based alternate reality, the prospects of achieving an advanced planetary society are are dim.

However, by promoting and concentrating on the right and necessary steps, we can start to move forward and begin to create a better society, that will advance the entire planet into a better future. So, what do we need to get started?. Well, here is a short list with the main objectives. We will go into more details, as we keep going forward.

Economy

  • The entire economy works as a moneyless system
  • The entire economic system is set up to work in harmony and to the advantage and advancement of the environment ... Eco integrated
  • All energy sources are free and renewable
  • All physical work is automated

Society

  • The entire Society is based around the acquisition of knowledge and invests heavily in education
  • Social status is based on amount of knowledge
  • Political decisions are based on science and for the good of Humanity and the planet
  • The entire society is working towards the good of the planet and all its people. Everybody is trying to better themselves and is doing the right moral thing in all aspects of life

Moving fish farms enables seagrass meadows to thrive, study shows ... Renewable energy

If its Gardening, Farming, Aquaculture, or any type of interaction with the environment, at the end it all comes down to Eco sustainability. If its the production of  bio fuels, or production of food, it all need to be sustainable. If its not, the entire Eco system of this planet will eventually collapse. Game over. That simple. So, by implementing new techniques and processes, we can assure, that we can produce enough food, renewable energy and still have a functioning Eco system, Biodiversity and therefore forests and natural habitats for many generations to come. This two articles below, give us some examples, about how this can be achieved. As always, please share this post (share buttons below), and help us spread the word. Thank you for your support. How climate change will alter our food and The seed that could bring clean water to millions

Regardless, if its Gardening, farming, planting trees, producing bio fuels, or any other type of production, it all needs water. With a shortage of clean water around the world, and an ever growing demand for food,  new techniques and methods to increase the supply of earths most precious commodity have to be implemented. This two article give us some good examples, as to how this can be accomplished. Great reads, for everyone who loves and care about protecting the environment. How outdoor activities, like Gardening or Aquafarming can benefit your mental an physical health

I don't believe, that we need a study, to confirm that Gardening and working with a small Aquaculture system, is beneficial to our overall health. However, its nice to see that science backs up common knowledge at times. Nothing beats being in or near nature. That's fore sure. We can also live a healthy lifestyle, by using only eco friendly products, or try to bring a little bit of nature into our homes.

Since we just mentioned aquaculture, lets see, what science has to say about it: We all know, that seafood consumption is on the rise, and wild stocks, are heavily over fished. Especially the smaller feed fish. Now, commercial aquaculture can produce plenty of seafood and relive the pressure on the wild stocks. However, everything has it up and down sides. Read the second article. It takes a closer look a the problem. As always, i hope you enjoy this post, and please don't forget to share it before you leave (share buttons at the end). Thanks for stopping by my blog, and please help to protect mother nature.

Spending time outdoors is arguably one of the best ways to improve our mental and physical wellbeing, and gardening is a great way to do this. The benefits of being outside are about more than just enjoying some fresh air though.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2018-06-gardening-mood.html?utm_source=nwletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=daily-nwletter

As seafood consumption outpaces the growth of other food sectors and continues to grow worldwide, farmed seafood—also called aquaculture—has increased rapidly to meet consumer demand. That means aquatic farming now puts the most pressure on the smaller  fish harvested to feed their larger farmed counterparts such as salmon, carp and tilapia.

FOOD PRODUCTION IN THE FUTURE: how Aquaponics and small scale gardening can help to insure sustainable supply

In the future, Aquaponics systems to grow food, as well as new Gardening practices, new Farming or Homesteading techniques will have to be used to take the pressure of the environment. As more and more people will inhabit the planet, food production will have to increase. Commercial, large scale Farming, will stretch the resources of the planet to its limits. However, by using Aquaponics, or other small scale production methods, this could be avoided. If a large section of the population is growing their own plants, we will not only ease the strain on the environment, but at the same time life a organic, healthier lifestyle. If you love gardening, farming, planting trees, or care for the environment in general, take a look at what you can do right now, to help the planet. You only need a small space in your kitchen, patio, or garage, to grow your own Herbs. Try it and bring nature into your home. As always, enjoy the post, and don't forget to share it before you leave (share buttons below). Thank you.

ECO FRIENDLY, BIODIVERSITY, GARDENING, COMPOSTING, FARMING ... Fighting Climate Change With Food Scraps: Why Composting Is Easier Than Ever - Vogue ... https://www.scientificamerican.com

CLIMATE CHANGE has become the top threat to our planet and its BIODIVERSITY. We all know, that biodiversity is the cornerstone, that keeps ecosystems balanced and healthy. At the same time, diversity alone can only keep the balance, and it needs help to do so. By keeping our soils fertilized with natural composts, we can do our part to help.

Composting nowadays is easier than ever. We don't need to rely on any chemicals at all. Humans produce enough organic food waste, to produce all the fertilizers we need. The future of Gardening, farming and agriculture, will depend on the wise use of natural food composting, to keep our soils healthy. In places were the soil is hopelessly contaminated, AQUACULTURE/ AQUAPONICS, is the right solution to produce food without having to plant into contaminated soil.

This two articles take a closer look at those problems. If you want some more information on AQUAPONICS, please feel free to look around the site. You will find all the resources you need. As always, please share this post before you leave. Thank you very much for your support. Enjoy.

Fighting Climate Change With Food Scraps: Why Composting Is Easier Than Ever - Vogue

In the ongoing quest towards living more sustainably, we often end up building individual pyramids towards a more harmonious-with-nature lifestyle. For some, the pinnacle might mean launching an informational campaign about the environmental hazards of plastic straws. For others, it could sprout as a set of community gardens, or installing solar panels to capture that straight-from-the-sun energy.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS BECOMING A TOP THREAT

Climate Change Is Becoming a Top Threat to Biodiversity

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/climate-change-is-becoming-a-top-threat-to-biodiversity/

Climate change, alongside factors like land degradation and habitat loss, is emerging as a top threat to wildlife around the globe, the reports suggest. In Africa, it could cause some animals to decline by as much as 50 percent by the end of the century, and up to 90 percent of coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean may bleach or degrade by the year 2050.

Modern aquaponics is technologically advanced and is an efficient and effective way of producing natural food. Fishes are reared in large tanks, and the plants are nurtured hydroponically. They are implanted in beds with a little gravel or clay, and their roots hang down into the water.

There seem to be no limits as to the future of aquaculture.

How Do Aquaponic Systems Work?

Aquaponics is a growing technique that takes two efficient systems and combines them to work symbiotically with each other: Aquaculture is the process of farming fish (such as tilapia, koi, or bluegill) or shellfish, while hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil. When the two are combined, you can create a nearly closed loop system that produces both plants and fish for consumption.

My aim was to document these efforts to bring some hope in the current depressing scenario. After studying several such efforts, I hoped to be able to draw some lessons regarding the direction farm policy should take to bring real relief to farmers.

Why we protect our oceans » Marine Conservation Institute

Because the oceans are essential to life on Earth.

Oregon-coast.jpg

Why we protect our oceans » Marine Conservation Institute

WHY PROTECT OUR OCEANS?
People need air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, new medicines, a climate we can live in, beauty, inspiration and recreation. We need to know we belong to something bigger than ourselves. We want a better future for those we care about.
Because the oceans are the largest ecosystems on Earth, they are the Earth’s largest life support systems. To survive and prosper, we all need healthy oceans. Oceans generate half of the oxygen people breathe. At any given moment, more than 97% of the world’s water resides in oceans. Oceans provide a sixth of the animal protein people eat. They’re the most promising source of new medicines to combat cancer, pain and bacterial diseases. Living oceans absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reduce the impact of climate change.
The diversity and productivity of the world’s oceans is a vital interest for humankind. Our security, our economy, our very survival all require healthy oceans.
So when Marine Conservation Institute works to save the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands or the Arctic Ocean, when we work to get agencies to devote more energy to research, monitoring or enforcement of laws, we are working to save the oceans for all of us and future generations.
Whether you live on the coast or far from it, whether you eat seafood or not, you and the future of all those you love depends on healthy oceans.
Our job is to see that you have healthy oceans. It’s the smart thing and the right thing to do.
